The current book “Well-Being of Women : A Holistic Approach” aims to cover all aspects of women’s well-being. A total of 31 chapters covering the status of women i.e. nutritional, psychological, economical, occupational, and spiritual welfare were included, with particular attention paid to digital advancements, body shaming, mindfulness, climate change, and sustainability. Alongwith this, it covers other components of wellbeing, namely physical, social, emotional, environmental, occupational, intellectual, financial and spiritual well-being. It also compiles the threats to the physical, emotional, social, and occupational well-being of women and describes the measures and solutions to overcome these threats. It also covers the national schemes, policies, initiatives, and digital solutions to manage the overall well-being of women (physical, emotional, occupational, social, etc.). It also presents the changing role of women in the family system. This book will be useful for students and professionals in Social Science, Humanities, Education, Arts, Agriculture, and allied sciences like Home Science. It will also be useful for the Government and non-government organisations and institutions that are working for the development of women.

Dr. Ragini Ranawat is currently working as an Assistant Professor (Foods and Human Nutrition) in the department of Home Science at University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. She was conferred Gold Medal at both B.Sc. and M.Sc. (Home Science) degrees from Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur and was awarded Ph.D. from Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur (Rajasthan). Dr. Ranawat has been a recipient of several awards viz. Bhom Kumari Award, Best Outgoing Student Award, Highest OGPA awards, etc. She was granted University merit scholarships throughout her bachelor’s degree. Her career began as a Subject Matter Specialist at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Badgaon, Udaipur where she worked for the livelihood and nutritional security of tribal women. She has been part of the winning team of KVK’s Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Rashtriya Krishi Vigyan Protsahan Puraskar (Zone II) by ICAR to KVK, Udaipur for being best KVK in Zone II. She has 22 research papers in national and international journals to her credit, alongwith 14 popular articles, numerous mass awareness literature, 2 books and 20 book chapters. She has also featured as a guest speaker for numerous episodes on the Doordarshan Kisan channel on themes like entrepreneurial opportunities in food industry and nutritional security. She has developed e-content for ARPIT platform. Dr. Ranawat has also developed an informative android mobile phone application for attracting and motivating students towards Home/ Community Sciences and has undertaken two research projects. She is also currently working in the consultancy project funded by UNICEF as a Coordinator (Maternal Dietary Diversity). Her total service experience is of 9 years.

Dr. Kesar Chayal is presently working as an Assistant Professor (Home-Science) at the Department of Home Science, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, since February 1, 2014. She received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Home Science College, Swami Keshwanand, and Agriculture University, Bikaner. She was granted a university merit scholarship through her M.Sc. degree. She conferred the Gold Medal at the M.Sc. degree. She was awarded the Ph.D. degree from Rajasthan University, Jaipur, in 2022. Before joining the Rajasthan University, she served as a Home Scientist at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bundi, where she worked for the livelihood development of rural women. She has seven years’ experience in KVK trainings, awareness programmes, demonstrations, and vocational courses. She has received the best work award in the field of women empowerment from the District Collector, Bundi. She did work on various research projects as a Co-project Investigator, i.e., UNICEF, RUSA, and ICAR. She has 38 research papers in national and international journals to her credit, alongwith 10 book chapters and three edited books. She attended about 40 national and international conferences and seminars. She is associated with national and international societies of extension and social science.Dr. Kesar has been a recipient of the Young Scientist Award, the Best Paper Presentation Award, and the Professional Recognition Award.

Dr. Sithara Balan V. is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Extension Education at Government College for Women, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, which is affiliated to the University of Kerala. She has 17 years of teaching service. Her areas of research include gerontology, behaviour change communication and gender studies. She is the recipient of International Internship administered by FLAIR, Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of Kerala. She has published 28 articles in various national and international peer reviewed journals and as chapters in books and has edited five books. She is also the gender trainer for the Department of Women and Child Development, Govt. of Kerala. Dr.Balan has also developed a nutritional kit for the older adults based on the RDA of ICMR as a part of her intervention programmes.

Dr. Lalita Vatta is a Professor of Home Science in the Department of Home Science, Mahila Mahavidyalaya, BHU. The area of her specialization is Extension and Communication. She has a vast experience in working with various institutes in versatile academic and administrative positions. Before joining BHU, she was working with the University of Rajasthan (2014-2020), Jaipur. She has also worked with Jai Narain Vyas University (2008-2012), Jodhpur and Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (2003-2008), Udaipur. Her area of research is skill education, assessment of government policies, and gender studies. She is having almost a hundred publication in the form of research papers with national and international publications and book chapters. She has published 4 books, developed MOOC content for SWAYAM and ARPIT platforms. She was also a Zonal Editor of a reputed journal named Indian Journal of Extension Education published by the Society of Extension Education. She is holding lifetime membership in Society of Extension Education, Indian society of extension education, Society of krishi vigyan, Mobilization society, Home science association of India, etc. She is a proud member of COURT, Aligarh Muslim University as a Visitors nominee (President of India).
