Dr. Dhirendra Kumar is presently working as an Associate Professor - Head of Animal Genetics and Breeding at CoVAS, Kishanganj, BASU, Patna. Dr. Dhirendra is a recipient of Best Ph.D. Thesis Award, Appreciation Award (2), Distinguished Scientist Award, Excellence in Teaching Award, Young Scientist Award (2) and Life Science Leadership Award. He has also served as Organizing Secretary of International Conference (1), Joint Organizing Secretary of International Conference (1) and Co-Organizing Secretary of National Conference/ Symposium (4). He has been the Principal Investigator of Network Project of NBAGR-ICAR on Characterization of Poonchi Chicken. He also acted as a Co-Principal Investigator under Network Projects of ICAR for Characterization of Sheep as well as Goat. He has been the co-project leader of the project “Capacity building/Training of Women Self Help Group members from Umeed as Community Paravets”. He has published more than 65 research and review articles in reputed national and international scientific journals. He has also contributed in scientific fields by means of books (12), popular articles, conference proceeding papers, short communications, chapters in books, manuals, edited publications, etc.
Dr. Manjari Pandey is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Animal Genetics and Breeding in College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Kishanganj, BASU, Bihar. She has worked as an Assistant Professor-cum-Junior Scientist in Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi-834006, Jharkhand from 12th September, 2022 till 27th March, 2023. She is the proud recipient of ICAR-Institute fellowship during her M.V.Sc. program and GoI, DST-INSPIRE fellowship during her Ph.D. program. She has also received Academic Excellence Award in 2019 and Young Scientist Award in 2022. She has currently a total of 36 publications including 8 research articles published in both national and international journals and 8 book chapters. She has authored 2 books, 11 review articles/key notes and 7 technical articles. She has received 2 best oral presentation awards as well.
Dr. Chandrahas is presently working as an Dean, College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (CoVAS), Kishanganj, since 24 November, 2022. He has more than 22 years’ experience of Teaching, Research, Innovation and Extension. He has authored more than 350 publications including 64 research articles, 15 books, 20 practical manuals, 37 book chapters, 52 popular articles, 05 Technical Bulletin, 30 lead papers, 55 research abstracts, 53 MOUs, etc. Registration of 04 native chicken varieties and 03 patents are in pipeline. He has received 32 awards including Gold Medals, JRF, SRF, ARS, Young Scientist, Best paper, Best poster awards, etc. He has been awarded Fellow National of Animal Production and Management (FNAPM) by ISAPM in 2019. He has guided 04 M.V.Sc. and 06 Ph.D. students as major advisor. He has handled 19 research projects including PI in 09 projects. His one of the notable area of work is Management of Poultry and Piggery Wastes. He has developed ‘DAC’ Technology for all-weather bio-gas production exclusively from both layer and broiler type of poultry excreta.
