This book is a comprehensive exploration of innovative strategies and practices designed to enhance the resilience and sustainability of agriculture in the face of climate change. This edited volume brings together the insights of leading researchers, practitioners, and policy-makers to provide a multifaceted perspective on the implementation and benefits of Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA). The book begins with a foundational understanding of CSA principles and objectives, setting the stage for discussions on sustainable farming practices and techniques that achieve long-term productivity without depleting natural resources. Advanced technologies that optimize inputs and improve crop yields are also examined, alongside the development and utilization of crop varieties capable of withstanding adverse climatic conditions. Critical issues in water use efficiency are addressed, emphasizing the importance of maintaining productivity in water-scarce regions. Techniques, such as greenhouse farming are presented to shield crops from extreme weather, while the transformative impact of IoT, AI, and data analytics on modern farming practices is highlighted. The integration of trees and crops is explored to enhance biodiversity and resilience, and innovative methods to improve crop resistance and yield are discussed. Cutting-edge advancements driving sustainable farming are showcased, emphasizing CSA’s role in ensuring global food security. Strategies to strengthen community resilience are explored, with a focus on the importance of inclusivity in agricultural practices. The necessary regulatory and support structures to facilitate CSA adoption are discussed, alongside the importance of community involvement and efficient water use. This book serves as a vital resource for anyone involved in agriculture, from farmers to policy-makers, offering practical insights and innovative solutions for a sustainable agricultural future. By addressing these diverse and critical aspects of CSA, the book aims to inspire and guide stakeholders towards building a resilient and food-secure world.
