The information and Communication Technology (ICT) have extensively impacted the libraries and its services. Similarly, it has been very difficult to made bibliographical control by the libraries due to information explosion, literature flood in various forms, Publication deluge, rapid innovation and growth in computer and communication technologies, internet, etc. Earlier, the libraries were offers manual information resources and services to its users but now the libraries have had to force to shift from the traditional library operations to the automated operations with latest state-of-art infrastructure. The impacts of emerging technologies have been felt by the libraries in every aspect of its resources and services. Technology has made wide impact on collection building, technical activities, budgetary provisions, manpower development and the way of providing important library services.

The main objective of the present book is to bring all the relevant issues on one platform, which is related with library and information services, such as impact of emerging technologies on libraries and its services, role of internet in collection building and information services, quality of library services and users Satisfaction, etc. The aim of the present book is to help all the library and information science professionals to acquaint with the areas of emerging trends and technologies, which are effecting library and information services widely in this digital era. The book will be useful for those library and information science professionals, who want further development in their professional knowledge and career.

  

Dr. Bhanu Partap is presently working as Assistant Librarian in Nehru Library, CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar (HR), India since July 2013. Before joining the current position, he has served many institutions situated in Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand and Chandigarh between September 2005 to July 2013. He has received MLISc. (2005) and M.A. (Mass Comm.) (2008) from Kurukshetra University , Kurukshetra and received M.Phil. (LIS) in (2008) from Alagappa University , Karaikudi (Tamil Nadu) , India. He has passed the exam of UGC-NET in June 2010 and also received the degree of Ph.D. in Library & Information Science (2018) from Kurukshetra University , Kurukshetra. He has about 15 years of professional experience in the field of librarianship. He has published more than 70 articles in the National and International Journals, Conference proceedings and book chapter and has also written / edited six books. Apart from this, he has coordinated many national workshops and training programs for students, faculty and library professionals. He is a life member of Haryana Library Association (HLA), Indian Library Association (ILA) and Association of Agricultural Librarians and Documentalists of India (AALDI).

Priyanka Neogi is presently working as Librarian Uttarayan College of Education, Jatrapur, Cooch Behar, West Bengal, India since July 2017. She has received M.A. in Political Science (2012) from the University of Burdwan , Bardhawan, West Bengal and BLISc (2014) from IGNOU, New Delhi. She has also passed B.Ed. (2014) from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra , M.Ed.(2018) from Maharishi Dayanand University , Rohtak , Haryana, and MLISc. From Netaji Subhash Open University , Kolkata, West Bengal (enrolled). She has about three years of professional experience in the field of librarianship. She has published and presented a good number of papers in National and International journals, conference proceedings and book chapters.

Dr. Rajinder Kumar is presently working as Assistant Librarian at Nehru Library , CCS Haryana Agricultural University , Hisar. He has done his Master of Library and Information Science from Kurukshetra University , Kurukshetra in 2007, UGC NET/JRF in 2007 and obtained M.Phil. in 2010 and Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from Kurukshetra University , Kurukshetra in 2007. He has more than nine years working experience in different institutions like Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra , Vaish Technical Institute , Rohtak and CCS Haryana Agricultural University , Hisar. He has in his credit six edited books and contributed more than 35 articles in different national, international journals and conferences proceedings or book chapters. He has coordinated many national workshops and training programs. He is the life member of different library association like Haryana Library Association, Indian Library Association and Association of Agricultural Librarians and Document Lists of India (AALDI).
