“Technological Innovations in Aquaculture & Fisheries (Environmental Sustainability)” presents a comprehensive and contemporary overview of the scientific advancements, technological innovations and sustainability-driven strategies shaping global fisheries and aquaculture sectors. Integrating interdisciplinary insights from biotechnology, environmental science, genetics and resource management, the book critically addresses challenges related to sustainability, productivity and biodiversity conservation. The volume explores ecosystem-based management frameworks alongside emerging concepts, such as carbon sequestration in aquatic systems, nutrient cycling optimization, biodiversity conservation strategies, molecular and genetic identification tools and immune response mechanisms in aquatic organisms. It further highlights cutting-edge approaches including sensor-based real-time monitoring systems, advanced feed formulation techniques and valorization of aquaculture waste for bioenergy production. Emphasizing innovation and eco-friendly practices, the book advocates minimizing environmental impacts while maximizing production efficiency through sustainable intensification and circular bio-economy approaches. It also underscores the crucial role of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) in knowledge dissemination, skill development and capacity building in the fisheries sector. Designed for researchers, academicians, policy makers and industry professionals, this volume provides valuable, evidence-based insights to advance sustainable aquaculture, maintain ecological balance and enhance food and nutritional security within the global blue economy framework.
