Dr. Dipankar Seth did his Bachelor in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & AH) in 2005 and subsequently master’s (M.V.Sc.) in 2007 from West Bengal University of Animal & Fishery Sciences. He was awarded with young scientist award by Indian Association of Veterinary Pathology (IAVP) in recognition of his research work in Nano Science and Nano-materials. Thereafter he did MBA form Vidya Sagar University, West Bengal and Post Graduate Diploma in Animal Welfare from IGNOU. He has a number of international publications in veterinary science to his name. After his master’s, he has worked as a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) at Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. He joined Government Service as a Veterinary Officer at Government of West Bengal in 2009. After clearing UPSC, he joined Government of NCT of Delhi in 2015. While working as a Filed Veterinarian it was felt that there is a need of compendium for vetero-legal matters so that it can serve as a ready reckoner to the veterinarians working at the grassroots level. At present he is working as an Assistant Commissioner at Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying on deputation basis. He has written popular articles for pets at different forums and is a writer of the book “Four Legs and an Emotional Stethoscope”. With the ages of time vetero-legal matters are gradually becoming important and veterinarians have to face vetero-legal matters in their day-to-day affairs beside clinical & other duties. This book provides a ready reckoner to address vetero-legal affairs in a comprehensive way.
