Saikat Majumdar is serving as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Rural Development, University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya. He has completed B.Sc. from University of Calcutta, M.Sc. in Agriculture and Rural Development from Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, West Bengal before taking up Doctoral research on Agricultural Production. He worked in “Agricultural Development and Rural Transformation Centre” (ADRTC), Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC), Bangalore more than 3 years as a Researcher. He is also a Master Trainer in the field of Spices & Plantation crops, and Minor Forest Products. His research interest focuses in Agricultural Production through Integrated Farming System and Extension, adoption of Farm Mechanization, Integrated Pest Management and Biomass Pellet production. He has published and presented more than 30+ research papers in National and International seminars, conferences, peer reviewed journals and edited books, also published more than 10 authored and edited books. He has also chaired many technical sessions in Seminar, Conference and Conclave.
