The book “Fundamentals of Agricultural Entomology” provides a detailed overview of entomology to meet out the requirement of course curriculum designed by fifth dean committee. This book covers the historical background of entomology in country, relationship of class Insecta with other arthropods, insect morphology, modification of different appendages, physiology of various organs involved in growth and development of insects. This book also covers classification of insects, especially insect orders and families of agriculture importance. Dr. Suresh Kumar Jat presently working as an Assistant Professor, College of Horticulture & Forestry, Jhalawar, Agriculture University, Kota, Raj. He obtained his M.Sc. (Agri.) and Ph.D. in Entomology from the MPUAT, Udaipur in 2012 and 2017, respectively. Worked for one year as a Senior Research Fellow in Network Project on Mass Production of Bio-pesticides at MPUAT, Udaipur. With over 07 years of teaching experience, Dr. Jat has made significant contribution to the quality education for under-graduate and post-graduate students in horticulture as well as forestry field. He has more than 30 publications including 20 research paper, 02 books, 05 book chapters and various articles in referred journals to his credit.
Dr. H. L. Deshwal is presently working as a Professor (Entomology) and Incharge, All India Coordinated Research Project on Kharif Pulses at Agricultural Research Station, Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner, Rajasthan. In addition to this, he is also working as a Head, Department of Entomology, College of Agriculture, SKRAU, Bikaner since last 4 years. He did his Ph.D. in Entomology from Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner, Rajasthan in 2007. He has been awarded University Gold Medal at Post-Graduation level and qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) of ICAR in 1995 and 1996. He has 28 years experience of teaching, research and extension and guided 15 M.Sc. and 5 Ph.D. students as a major advisor. He has developed technologies for management of insect pests of arid legumes crops like Cluster bean, Moth bean, Cowpea and also published two books entitled “Fundamental of Agricultural Entomology” and “Insect Pests of Crops and their Eco-friendly Management”. He has also published several research papers, popular articles, book chapters, bulletins and practical manuals in reputed journals/magazines.
Dr. Lekha joined as an Agriculture Officer in 2010, Department of Agriculture, and GOR. Joined as an Assistant Professor (Entomology) in 2013. She is currently working as an Associate Professor (Entomology) at ARSS, Sumerpur-Pali, AU, Jodhpur. During her career of more than thirteen years in the field of Research, Teaching and Extension, she has published more than 65 research papers in different referred journals; she has also served as an Editor in different referred journals. Dr. Lekha also published practical manuals, E-Compendium-Cum-Manuals, Technical bulletins and a number of popular articles. She has guided many M.Sc. and Ph.D. students.
Dr. Anchal Sharma is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the College of Horticulture & Forestry, Jhalawar, under Agriculture University, Kota, Rajasthan. As a distinguished academic, she was awarded the University Gold Medal for her M.Sc. in Zoology, and later earned her Ph.D. in Wildlife Science from the prestigious Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun. Dr. Sharma has successfully cleared the UGC-SET examination and was a recipient of the prestigious DST-INSPIRE Fellowship for her doctoral research. With over seven years of dedicated teaching experience, as a Major Advisor, she has mentored five post graduate students, guiding them toward academic and professional success. Her scholarly output includes over 12 publications in esteemed national and international journals, two authored books, a book chapter, and numerous articles in referred journals.
