Dr. Shaista Nazir Bhat is a Soil Science Researcher specializing in Soil Fertility, Nutrient Kinetics, Soil-Plant Relationships, with a focus on Soil Chemistry and Soil Fertility Management. She earned her Ph.D. in Soil Nutrient Kinetics from SKUAST-Kashmir, where in her Doctoral research work she made the efforts to carry out the studies on the Adsorption-Desorption of Boron in the Kashmir Soils which was a carryover work from her Master’s Programme where she had examined the Kinetics of Potassium in the illitic Kashmir soils. The effect of Boron on plants as an essential micronutrient was also studied with the help of indicator plant trials. Various Kinetic models were used to investigate the dynamics of Boron in the Kashmir Soils. Dr. Bhat is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Soil Science, at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), India, and previously served as a Research Associate in a Nation Level Soil Fertility Mapping project in which the GIS based Soil maps were furnished for whole of Kashmir Valley along with Desert areas of Ladakh Region. She has authored and co-authored over 28 peer-reviewed National and International publications and book chapters in leading Journals. Dr. Bhat is an active member of several National Level scientific bodies, including the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Indian Ecological Society, and Kashmir Chapter of Soil Science (ICAR). Dr. Bhat has guided and co-guided more than 10 Ph.D and M.Sc. Students in her tenure. Her research projects have been supported by institutions, such as the DST, SERB, NABARD and Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. Her work contributes to proceeding understanding of Soil fertility Dynamics especially in view of the latest challenges encountered in the fields of Soil Nutrient deficits, soil deprivation and the impact of Climate change on the Soil Systems.

Dr. Subhash Chand Maderna is a highly experienced agricultural scientist with 25 years of dedicated work in research, teaching, and extension services. His expertise lies in soil science, where he has made significant contributions in advanced fields, such as nano-material-based controlled-release fertilizers, organic farming, climate change adaptation, natural resource management, integrated nutrient management, and sustainable agriculture. His pioneering research has established him as a leading international expert in Soil Fertility, Soil Chemistry and Soil Microbiology. Through his innovative work, he has developed practical solutions that benefit students, fellow researchers, policy-makers, and farming communities. His studies on sustainable soil management techniques help improve crop productivity while protecting the environment. As an educator, he guides the next generation of agriculture scholars and budding researchers, while his extension work bridges the gap between laboratory research and real-world farming practices. His holistic approach combines scientific knowledge with practical applications, making him a valuable contributor to global food security and ecological conservation efforts.

Dr. Hanuman Lal Verma obtained his M.Sc. Ag. (Extension Education) in 2008 from S.K.N. College of Agriculture, Jobner (Jaipur), and completed his Ph.D. (Extension Education) in 2016 from the College of Agriculture, SKRAU, Bikaner. He has more than three years of experience as a Senior Research Fellow under the NAIP and RKVY projects at MPUAT, Udaipur (Rajasthan). He joined Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), Srinagar, in August 2017. He served more than four years as a Subject Matter Specialist (Agricultural Extension) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nyoma and Leh (Ladakh). Subsequently, he is working as an Assistant Professor (Extension Education) in the Division of Social Sciences, Faculty of Fisheries, SKUAST-K, Rangil, Ganderbal. He has authored a book titled Fundamentals of Agricultural Extension Education and contributed seven book chapters to national-level publications, published 21 research papers, 12 popular articles, and 3 success stories, along with several abstracts in reputed journals, magazines and conference proceedings. He has actively participated in various national and international conferences, seminars, trainings, and workshops, and holds lifetime membership in several scientific societies.
