Section C deals with Marketing and focuses on various concepts related to market and marketing livestock marketing, international marketing of livestock and livestock products (WTO issues) and demand-supply projection of livestock food products. Section D deals with Management and describes basic management concepts, human resource and personnel management, marketing management and resource management. The book will be indispensable for the students pursuing undergraduate degree programme in Veterinary Colleges. This course is being taught by professionals in the field of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension who have relatively lesser degree of specialization in the field of economics and accountancy. This book will also be useful for the teachers & research scientists.

The author is currently Assistant Professor (Veterinary Economics) in Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand with over eight years of teaching and research experience in the field of livestock economics and agribusiness management. He did his M.V.Sc in Veterinary Economics and Ph.D. in Agribusiness Management from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology. He has taught courses in Livestock Economics, Livestock Development Policy and Finance, Livestock Production Economics, Livestock Business Management, Research Methodology in Extension/Management, Marketing Management and Information and Communication Technology in livestock development. His research interests centre primarily on policy research on animal health economics and livestock services delivery; international trade in livestock and livestock products; commercial feasibility analysis of improved livestock technologies and livestock products marketing and supply chain analysis. He serves as referee for several journals in India. He has published about 40 research papers, 21 semi-technical/policy papers, 2 chapters in books, presented papers in 20 international and national conferences and edited books. He visited Gold coast, Australia in 2006 for participating in an international conference. He has guided/co-guided several students for their M.V.Sc research work. He is at present in-charge of several externally funded research projects sponsored by organizations like Department of Science and Technology, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying and National Dairy Research Institute. He has received several awards in recognition of his research work.
