This book “A Handbook of Soil Fertility” addresses the key to the management of soil fertility and also impart a scrupulous understanding of plant nutrition, soil fertility, nutrients supplied through fertilizers and manures, manufacture of fertilizers and preparation of manures. This book portrays the influence of soil properties and interactions on nutrient availability to crops. It also elucidates the nutrient deficiency / toxicity symptoms and recommends appropriate remedial measures.

Dr. R.K.Kaleeswari, working as Associate Professor (Soil Science) has 17 years of teaching and research experiences. She has completed her post doctoral research programme in Australia to explore the possibilities of soil carbon sequestration in salt affected soils. Her field of specialization is soil fertility with regard to soil carbon sequestration in agro-ecosystems. She has compiled 16 technical compendiums and manuals for the benefit of students and researchers. Published 40 research articles and five book chapters. She has operated 10 research projects on soil fertility. She also attended 5 international conferences and is a member of 10 professional bodies in India and western countries.
