Veterinary Extension Education is very dynamic because of varied area of operation and clientele. The subject of Veterinary Extension Education needs to be understood very objectively by the students, so that their approach to the whole veterinary extension education process could be analytical and one that could draw synergies of technologies, concepts and philosophies which are getting added to already existing knowledge base. It is intended as a practical guide to cover some of the basic principles of quality extension efforts in the field of veterinary and animal husbandry sector. The book consists a set of experiments designed to allow students to build skill, knowledge and attitude. This experiments cover relevant topics prescribed in the Veterinary Council of India, New Delhi syllabus and are designed to reinforce the theoretical concepts taught in the classroom with practical experience in the lab or in the field. By the end of the course, students are expected to have a good understanding of principals and techniques of veterinary and animal husbandry extension with application in field area. Veterinary extension education is changing its approach in terms of content, context and relevance and hence, new methods, innovations and system have emerged and accepted in the society. The authors highlighted the significant need of the credit for the farmers to generate income, employment and required capital base in livestock, so that their approach to the whole veterinary extension education process could be analytical and one that could draw synergies of technologies, skills and concepts of extension which are getting added to already existing profit base. Dr. Ajay Kumar Chaturvedani is an Assistant Professor, Department of Veterinary Extension, Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Rajiv Gandhi South Campus- Banaras Hindu University, Mirzapur, India. He has completed Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry degree from the College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Dau Shri Vasudev Chandrakar Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya, Anjora, Durg, Chhattisgarh. He was awarded M.V.Sc. degree with ICAR- JRF and Ph.D. degree with UGC- JRF & UGC-SRF in Veterinary Extension Education from ICAR- Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar in the year 2014 and 2017, respectively. He started his professional career as a Junior Scientist at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dantewada (C.G.) and continued as a contractual teacher in Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education, College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Anjora, Durg (DSVCKV). He has also been awarded ICMR-JRF and RGNF-JRF for pursuing his Ph.D. He is the life time member of 6 different professional societies and act as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board and review committees of different journals. He has contributed more than 30 research papers, book chapters, compiled teaching manual and booklets, edited compendium and review articles in National and International Journals.
Dr. Om Prakash Dinani was born on June 30, 1981 at Village-Belgahna, Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh. His father Shri Narayan Das Dinani is working as a Head Master in the department of trible welfare, Chhattisgarh government. His mother is late Smt. Pushpa Dinani. He has secured the 1st rank in the all classes from class 1 to 12 passed from Govt.B.H.S.S., Belgahna, Bilaspur, (C.G.). He has graduated (B.V.Sc.&A.H.) from College of Veterinary Science & A.H., Anjora, Durg (C.G.), obtained M.V.Sc. and Ph.D. in Poultry Science from IVRIDU, Izatnagar (U.P.) and PGDAEM from MANAGE, Hyderabad securing 1st rank. He has received IPSA Dr. D. Choudhury Award for best Ph.D. Thesis-2019. He has worked as a Veterinary Assistant Surgeon (VAS) in Livestock Development Department, Govt. of Chhattisgarh from 06 January, 2010 to 28 June, 2012. He has secured 1st rank in Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission for V.A.S. selection. He has got ICAR Junior Research Fellowship AIR 13th and also secured ICAR Senior Research Fellowship v AIR 1st rank. He has secured 1st rank in Assistant Professor Selection in ILFC department. He has also qualified ASRB in Poultry Science discipline in the year 2012 and 2017. He has also been awarded Krishi Shiromani Award from the Honorable Governor of Chhattisgarh. He has also performed duty as an Officer-in-charge Bull Mother Experimental Farm for the period of three years. He has worked as a Principle Investigator in 01 DST and 01 ICAR project, Co-principle Investigator in 01 BRNS and 02 ICAR funded projects in college. He has also worked as Officer-in-charge, Poultry unit, in-charge Vehicle unit of the college, in-charge establishment section, in-charge garden section along with additional duty to support Directorate Panchgavya Research Centre. He has given training to more than 5000 farmers and more than 200 B.V.Sc. & A.H. internee students training. He has worked as a master trainer in Skill India programme for poultry, Organizing secretary in 1 national seminar and Co-organizer in 18 Farmers Training programmes and Coorganizing secretary in IPSACON-2019. He has published 91 research papers, 82 abstracts, 43 popular articles, 17 technical bulletins, 47 pamphlets and 14 manuals and 06 books related to Livestock and Poultry Production Management.
Dr. Komal Chandraker is currently employed as a Veterinary Assistant Surgeon (VAS) for Government of Chhattisgarh. Dr. Chandraker has graduated in 2015 from College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Anjora, Durg. She has done her Post-graduation and Ph.D. in Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension Education from CVSc. & A.H. Bhubaneswar and CVSc. & A.H. Ranchi respectively. She also has teaching experience for a year in Dept. of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension Education in CVSc. & Animal Husbandry, Anjora, Durg. She has been awarded the Young Scientist Award from science and technology society for integrated rural improvement. She also has many research papers to her credit published in reputed National and International Journals.
