The present study on "Dimensions of Gender and Women Empowerment" is an attempt to highlight the recent developments related to women’s issues concerning their health, economic independence, education and social inclusion. Women must possess self-confidence, and freedom to choose their life and career. Classifying people on the basis of gender is worthless and a notion that should be strongly discouraged. Still, women are paid less, expected to work silently and do household chores even if they are bread winner of the family and restricted by theirfamily members. To overcome this state and to have a self-reliant role in society, women’s empowerment is highly needed. Empowering women is the basic and fundamental right of women. They have equal rights to participate in education, society, economics and politics. They are allowed to have higher education and treated equal to men but in terms of social, financial and emotional growth, the scenario is different. Therefore, this book proposes to highlight not only the importance of women’s empowerment, but also current scenario and challenges faced by women in the present era. It will further help to probe the relevant issues prevalent in the domain of gender studies by providing a wholesome understanding of the various dimensions of gender equality and women empowerment.
