Prof. (Dr.) A.K. Srivastava, is a distinguished Veterinary and Animal Scientist. He was Chairman of Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare GoI. Earlier he also served as Member (Animal Sciences), ASRB; Director and Vice Chancellor of ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal; Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Director Resident Instructions & Dean, Post Graduate Studies at Sher-eKashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology (SKUAST-J), Jammu; Head of the Department of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology, Controller of Examinations at PAU, Ludhiana. He is graduated from Veterinary College, Mathura. He has obtained Ph.D. from PAU, Ludhiana and Post Doctorate (PDF) from Institute of Toxicology, Munchen, Germany. Prof. (Dr.) Srivastava is recipient of Degree of Doctor of Science (D.Sc. Honors Causa) from Veterinary University Mathura, Veterinary University, Jabalpur and IVRI, Izatnagar. Presently, Prof. Srivastava is President of National Academy of Dairy Science (India) and Patron of Indian Dairy Association. He is President of Association of Mastitis and President of Probiotic Association of India. Earlier Prof. Srivastava was Vice President and also Secretary of National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS). He was also President of Indian Society of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology, Chairman Indian Dairy Association, Member of International Dairy Federation and Chairman, FAD 19, Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS), Govt. of India. Dr. Srivastava is Founder Authority Member of “Food Safety and Standard Authority of India (FSSAI)”. Prof. Srivastava is a distinguished Member of National Academy of Sciences. He is fellow of all three academies i.e., National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, National Academy of Dairy Sciences and National Academy of Veterinary Sciences. He is also fellow of Punjab Academy of Sciences and fellow of Uttar Pradesh Academy of Agricultural Sciences. He is also fellow of 10 other National Scientific Societies of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. He is Chairman R&D Committee of Ministry of Food Processing Industries GoI; Member, Board of Governing Council of “Agriculture Skill Council of India”, Ministry of Skill Development GoI; and Member, Advisory Committee of Indian Institute of Packaging, Ministry of Commerce and Industries, GoI. He is Member, Board of Trust About the Editors v for “Advancement of Agricultural Sciences”. Earlier Prof. Srivastava has also served as Secretary, Vice President and President of Indian Agricultural Universities Vice Chancellors Association, Chairman DBT Task Force on “Biotechnological Approaches for Food and Nutritional Security, and also of Task Force on “Animal Biotechnology”. He has also served as Member, Governing Board of National Institute of Animal Biotechnology, DBT Govt. of India. He has been decorated with numerous prestigious awards and honours including some most important, ICAR, Jawaharlal Nehru Award, International NOCIL Award, National Alarsin Awards in 1987-88 and in 1999-2000, ASET Gold Medal, German Academic Exchange Award, Gold Medals of Indian Science Congress Association, National Education Award 2016 and many more. He has been conferred the “Lifetime Achievement Award” by the Indian Society for the Study of Reproduction and Fertility, Society for Community Mobilization for Sustainable Development and Indian Society of Buffalo Development. He is recipient of Dr. B.D. Garg outstanding Pharmacologist Award, Dr. V. Kurien Memorial Award, Chellappa Memorial Oration Award, Mansinhbhai Memorial Oration Award, Dr. Sundershan Memorial Award, Prof. S.C. Mandal Memorial Oration Award, Dr. Rao Memorial Oration Award and Prof. S. Kannaiyan Memorial Award by National Academy of Biological Sciences. Prof. Srivastava was also Chairman of working group of Planning Commission on “Animal Husbandry and Dairying” for XII Five Year Plan and Chairman for Mid-Term Evaluation of XI Five Year Plan. He led the DSTIndia delegation to New Zealand. He also represented India and was Chairman/Member of Indian Scientific Delegation to Kansas University, USA, Belgium, Dubai, Ethiopia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Nairobi, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Bangkok, Michigan State University, USA and many more countries. He has more than 250 research papers, 10 books and 12 “National Policy Papers” in his credit and has guided more than 25 Ph.D. and post-graduate students.

Prof. P.K. Shukla, Dean, Vetcol, and Registrar, U. P. P. Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya Evam Go Anusandhan Sansthan, DUVASU, Mathura, Prof. Shukla was Professor and Head, Department of Poultry Science and Scientific and Technical Advisor to Vice Chancellor at DUVASU, Mathura. He worked as Joint Commissioner (Poultry), Government of India in Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi from May 2007 to April 2012, playing a crucial role in the Policy, Planning & Program implementation especially in Poultry Sector. He has also served as Dean, Post Graduate Studies, DUVASU, Mathura from Jan. 2013 to Dec.2021. He believes in dissemination of relevant information amongst various stakeholders and has about 295 publications in his credit besides 3 book chapters and two laboratory manuals. He has guided more than 28 M.V.Sc. and Ph.D. students. He has authored several Policy Papers and Status Papers and is on the editorial boards of several journals and magazines of repute. Presently, Prof. P.K. Shukla is engaged in research and education management in veterinary science and providing leadership for overall Poultry development in the country.

Dr. Amitav Bhattacharyya, was born on 14th October, 1975 in Sunabeda, Dist. Koraput (Odisha). He had his schooling in V. S. Vidyalaya and graduated in 2001 from College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, OUAT, Bhubaneswar. He has completed his M.V.Sc. in Poultry Science in 2003 and Ph. D. in Poultry Science in 2008 from IVRI, Izatnagar. He has secured first class throughout his academic career and was awarded with ICAR JRF and IVRI SRF during his post-graduation and doctoral degree respectively. He joined as a Teaching Associate in 2007 and thereafter became Asst. Professor in 2009 at College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, DUVASU, Mathura. During his dissertation work in CARI, Izatnagar, he standardized the in ovo technology for turkeys in India. He was awarded the prestigious Ayurvet IPSA Best Research Paper Award 2012 during XXX Conference of Indian Poultry Science Association. He was awarded with British Poultry Science Travel Grant in 2006 and was selected in Youth Program of European Poultry Congress, Verona, Italy, 2006. He was awarded with World’s Poultry Science Association Travel Grant to attend 9th International Poultry Show and Symposium, Dhaka, February 19-21, 2015. He has been awarded World Veterinary Poultry Association (WVPA) Travel Grant for presenting paperin WVPA Conference on 22-23rd October, 2022 at Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has received Young Scientist Award, Outstanding Scientist Award, Reviewer Excellence Award, Award for Excellence in Research, Excellence Award in Teaching and Research, Best Researcher Award, Bharat Vikas Award, etc. He was conferred the Fellowship of IPSA on 11 December, 2019 on the occasion of XXXVI Annual Conference & National Symposium of Indian Poultry Science Association. He has also been conferred Fellow, Agriculture Letters and awarded as Member, National Academy of Veterinary Sciences in 2021. He has guided seven M.V.Sc. students as a major advisor and acted as the advisory member of 19 post-graduate students. He has so far published and presented more than 70 papers in national and international journals and conferences. He has authored 1 book, 7 book chapters, 7 manuals and compendium. His field of interest has been to work on a wide range of issues in poultry nutrition according to the need of farmers and industry. Presently, he is actively involved in teaching and research activities of undergraduate and post-graduate students along with extension activities pertaining to popularization of turkeys as a part of diversified poultry farming in India. 

Dr. Manish Kumar Singh, was born on 01st June, 1984 in an agricultural family in the village Chaksingar, District Vaishali, Bihar. He has completed his scholastic and preuniversity studies from Chhapra (Bihar) and graduated (BVSc & AH) from Bombay Veterinary College, Mumbai (MAFSU) in 2011 immediately after completing the BVSc & AH. Dr. Singh entered Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar and completed MVSc and Ph.D. in Poultry Science from this esteemed institute in the years 2013 and 2016, respectively. His MVSc work on Neem supplementation in Guinea fowl was adjudged as the outstanding post-graduate research work, for which he received the ‘AP Chapter Award’ of the CARI, Izatnagar, Bareilly, UP in IPSA Annual Conference (2013-14), Namakkal, Tamil Nadu. He has also qualified for ASRB NET 2014 (I) in the concerned discipline with flying colours. Apart from, Ph.D. he has done PGDAEM-MOOCs (2019-2020) from MANAGE, Hyderabad to enhance his Techno-managerial competence. Before his present assignment as Poultry Farm Manager of UP Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya Evam Go-Anusandhan Sansthan (DUVASU), Mathura, UP (since 20th March, 2017), Dr. Singh commenced his professional career as Skill Associate, Senior Research Fellow, and Inseminator-cum-Data Recorder in ICAR funded research projects of GBPUA&T, Pantnagar (2013-16); Guest Faculty, NDUAT, Faizabad (2016); Asst. Prof. (ILFC), KCVAS (GADVASU), Amritsar (2016-17). His expertise in judging the Lactating Cows and Buffaloes, Dry Cows, and Restraining Large Ruminants, Broilers and Layer birds is supported by the prizes won by him in the said competitions organized by the Department of Livestock Production Management (LPM), GBPUA&T, Pantnagar. Dr. Singh’s academic skills are well evident through his work as the referee for several international and national journals including the Journal of Animal Breeding and Genetics, Biological Rhythm Research, the Iranian Journal of Applied Animal Science, The Indian Journal of Animal Sciences, Indian Journal of Animal Research, Indian Journal of Poultry Science, and many more. His research findings are cited in international and national journals and he has 140 citations with h-index 06 and i10-index 2 to date. Dr. Singh’s has robust experience in diagnosing and managing various diseases of Poultry. Dr. Singh’s areas of interest in Breeding and the improvement of productive and reproductive traits for both animals and poultry, especially the native ones. Dr. Singh extensively works (Ph.D.) on Genetic Studies on Reproductive and Productive traits in Uttara, for contribution to research on indigenous Uttara (19th breed of chicken India and 1st breed of chicken, Uttarakhand state) he was conferred with Best About the Editors / ix Researcher Award from the International Journal for Research under Literal Access, jointly with the World Research Council (WRC) (2018); fellow award (2019) for Society for World Environment, Food, and Technology (SWEFT) and Young Scientist Award (2020) by ICSTPH with ICMR. Furthermore, during his glorious Ph.D. carrier, worked first time in the Indian context on pre-incubation egg parameters for measuring day-old chick quality in Uttara breeder hens (the effects of pre-incubation egg parameters on post-incubation traits) because of the effects of egg weight on hatchability and chick quality are very important parameters for commercial hatcheries. He has more than 54 research papers, 03 books and 01 competitive book entitled “VET QUEST On stop solutions”! For ‘Veterinary and Animal Science’ Book chapter on Poultry Science and 03 “Review papers” in his credit and has been awarded 2 numbers Best Book Award by SWEFT.
