Food safety considerations include the origins of food, the practices relating to food labelling, food hygiene, food additives and pesticide residues, as well as policies on biotechnology and food and guidelines for the management of government import and export inspection and certification systems forfoods. Unsafe food containing harmful bacteria, viruses, parasites or chemical substances causes more than 200 diseases, ranging from diarrhoea to cancers like major challenges to public health and that need to be urgently addressed.
