Food safety considerations include the origins of food, the practices relating to food labelling, food hygiene, food additives and pesticide residues, as well as policies on biotechnology and food and guidelines for the management of government import and export inspection and certification systems forfoods. Unsafe food containing harmful bacteria, viruses, parasites or chemical substances causes more than 200 diseases, ranging from diarrhoea to cancers like major challenges to public health and that need to be urgently addressed. This book has attempted to compile the diverse field of food safety including the status of food safety and food-borne diseases that are transferable between animals and humans in India. Special attention has been given to elaborating on different diagnostic methods for chemical and biological hazards in different foods. This book is very informative and contains valuable information that helps in understanding modern techniques used in detecting infectious and non-infectious contaminants in food in detail and in a very easy way. This book is very useful for undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students and professionals of food science and technology, veterinary science, and the reader for public health and veterinary publications
