The book Fundamentals of Agricultural Extension Education has been prepared forthe students of agricultural universities in the graduate classes of agriculture, horticulture and allied subject. The book covers about syllabus of Fifth Dean's Committee which has been formulated by the Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) for the compilation of syllabus for the graduate in the state agricultural universities, deemed universities and institutes. The whole book has been divided in eight chapters. The Chapter 10&11 specially describe the glossary of terms related to the agricultural extension education while in chapter 4 various extensions and agricultural development programmes launched by ICAR Government of India has been described. The book will be helpful for students not only for theoretical aspects of extension education but for practical also. The universities, research institutes, and other organisations found it to be useful in terms of summary and learning lectures. The knowledge gap shall be fulfilled between farmers and aspirants of agricultural competitive examinations in general and extension education specialisation. It will help to crystallise the knowledge about the agricultural extension education system of India especially in rural development and social science activities.
Dr. Hanuman Lal Verma did his M.Sc. Ag. (Ext.Edu.) degree in 2008 from S. K. N. College of Agriculture, Jobner (Jaipur) and Ph.D. (Ext.Edu) in 2016 from College of Agriculture (SKRAU), Bikaner. He has more than three years experience of senior research fellow in NAIP and RKVY project under MPUAT, Udaipur (Rajasthan). He has joined the Sher-eKashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir, Srinagar (J&K), India from August 2017 and served more than 4 years as a Subject Matter Specialist (Agricultural Extension) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Nyoma-Leh (Ladakh) and there after worked as an Assistant Professor (Extension Education), Division of Social Sciences, Faculty of Fisheries (SKUAST-K), Rangil-Ganderbal. He has written 3 book chapters in National level books, published 16 research papers, 11 popular articles and 3 success stories in various scientific journals and magazines respectively, participated in various National and International conferences/seminars/trainings, etc. and lifetime member of many Scientific Societies.
Dr. (Mrs.) Surya Rathore is currently working as a Head (Acting) of Division of Extension Systems Management, ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad (Telangana) since Jan, 2023 and did her P.G. Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM) from Central University of Hyderabad in 2019 and in 2014, P. G. Diploma in Technology Management in Agriculture (PGDTMA) from ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad, 2002 Ph.D. (Extension Education) Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture & Technology, Udaipur (Rajasthan) 1992, M.Sc. (Home Science Education & Extension) from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara (Gujarat) 1990, B.Sc. (Home Science) from Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner (Rajasthan). She has worked as a Training Associate (Home Science), KVK (Pali & Jodhpur), Central Arid Zone Research Institute, Jodhpur (Rajasthan) 1996-2003, and from 2003-2009 as a Associate Professor (Agricultural Communication), Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar (Uttarakhand). From 2009 to 2014 as a Professor (Agricultural Communication), Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar (Uttarakhand).
Dr. Subhash Chand born on 25th July, 1972 in a small village Nagala Kalyan, Bharatpur, Rajasthan in a farmer family. Presently he is working as a Professor-cum-Chief Scientist of Soil Science, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir, Campus-Shalimar, Srinagar-190025, UT of Jammu and Kashmir. He is lifetime member of six Scientific Societies viz. Indian Science Congress AssociationKolkata, Indian Association of Soil and Water Conservationist- Dehradun, Indian Society of Soil Science- New Delhi, Soil Conservation Society of India- New Delhi, Indian Society of Remote Sensing- Dehradun, Indian Society of Soil Survey and Land Use Planning- Nagpur. Dr. Subhash did his B.Sc. Ag. Honours and M.Sc. Ag. Honours in Soil Science from Rajasthan Agriculture University, Bikaner in 1995 & 1997 respectively. He did his Ph.D. Ag. in Soil Science from Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur in 2001. He has received Best PG Course Work Seminar Award & Somani Book Award (essay competition) by ISSS Udaipur Chapter during 1995-1997 and PG University Merit Scholarship during his PG. Dr. Subhash is an elected member of Association of Soil and Water Conservationist- Dehradun for 2022-23. He was also a Councillor– North Zone of ISSS & LUP- Nagpur for 2014-15. Dr. Subhash has 20 years of experience of Teaching of UG, PG and Ph.D., Research and Extension in SAU System. He is a member of editorial board of several national and international journal of repute. He has been also awarded Bhoominirman Award and Prashasti Patra in 2011 by Bhoominirman Group at Indore for his work.
