Agribusiness is a broad theme and its importance in present context cannot be underestimated. India being an agrarian economy is having global advantage in terms of highest production in significant commodities. While so ever in context to market and drawing business, we are lacking behind. Moreover, depletion of natural resources, increasing population, exhausted food systems has shifted the importance of modern linkages for various farm commodities. In purview of same, it becomes necessary to learn about the environment where agribusiness is conducted and various micro as well as macro environmental forces and its impact on agribusiness. Agribusiness is a state subject and from time to time, farmers undergo exposure of suitable policy interventions to carry out their farming operations. Agribusiness policies in India design and implemented by a complex system of institutions. This book has been divided into 20 chapters covering various ranges of agribusiness policies, such as agricultural marketing, agricultural price systems, national food security, water use, climate change and sustainable energy, etc. and their assessment with respect to Indian farmers.

Dr. Mohit Sharma, Assistant Professor at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa, Bihar has worked on ‘Impact of Good Agricultural Practices towards Mango Exports from India’ as part of his doctoral research. He has more than 4 years of experience in teaching Post Graduates at Central Universities of India and research engagement with NABARD, DBT funded projects. Dr. Sharma has also experience of about 2 years in banking institution working in retail agriculture department prior to his research journey. His research interests are International Agribusiness trade dynamics Agri tourism, Food safety standards and certifications and value chain assessment. He has several publications of research articles (ABDC ranked, Scopus indexed, UGC approved), book chapters and popular articles in various reputed national and international journals. He is also associated with Centre for Start-up Facilitation of the RPCAU and has also given a job role of Subject Matter Specialist by Agriculture Skill Council of India, under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). His current area of interest includes agribusiness policy, food safety and quality, agripreneurship, international agribusiness trade and marketing, agritourism, etc.

Guptnath Trivedi has obtained his Bachelor degree in Mathematics and Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Benaras Hindu University. He is a recipient of BHU-Gold Medal in his Master’s. He is currently associated with Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa, Samastipur, Bihar as an Assistant Librarian (Faculty). He has more than 4 years of teaching, research and other academic experiences at UG and PG level. To his credit, several number of research papers, book chapters, op-eds, and institutional publications have been recorded which are indexed by international and national databases like SCOPUS, G-Scholar, etc. His area of research and expertise are Information Science, Scientometrics, Science Communications, Science Policy, Open Source Library Solutions and Behavioural Study. Besides his Library assignments, he has been teaching courses like Library and Information Services, ICT, MIS, Research and Publication Ethics, etc. at PG level.
